At Velkei Law, Mr. Wilson has taken on the responsibilities of case and e-discovery management for the firm’s various litigations.

Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Wilson spent several years working in the labs of major pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, including Upjohn and Schering-Plough. After graduating from The George Washington University School of Law, he joined the in-house legal group at eBay, Inc., where he worked closely with multiple software development teams in managing the company’s intellectual property.  He also worked with eBay’s legal group to negotiate and execute multiple patent licenses and to manage the company’s patent litigation.  Afterward, Mr. Wilson joined Sidley Austin and later, Wilson Sonsini as a patent litigator.  At both firms, he represented clients in various patent infringement actions, running the gamut of technologies, including pharmaceuticals (Hatch-Waxman litigation), spinal fusion devices, smartphone user interface design, and internet security software.  Mr. Wilson is a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Wilson also has significant experience leading and managing teams through the important task of e-discovery.  Mr. Wilson has assisted clients through all steps of the process from collection to production, with a high level of technical expertise on several e-discovery and case management platforms.  Examples of actions in which this expertise was critical include hospital and health plan mergers, hospital bankruptcies, health plan anti-trust litigation, Medicare fraud/False Claims Act litigation, trade secrets misappropriation of DNA microarray technology, rideshare app arbitrations, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act litigation in commodities and ForEx trading.

Mr. Wilson represents clients in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts and before the American Arbitration Association.  Mr. Wilson’s practice is primarily focused on the healthcare industry, representing both non-profit and for-profit entities, including hospitals, medical groups, and health insurers.  Mr. Wilson is experienced in litigating large exposure cases arising out of various areas of law, including contract, tort, unfair competition and misappropriation, utilization management review, employment discrimination and whistleblower claims, trademark, copyright, and non-profit corporation administration, amongst others.

Recently, Mr. Wilson was instrumental in helping our client, a revered local healthcare provider, achieve the dissolution of its affiliation from a large national hospital chain.  As a member of a small firm, Mr. Wilson stands up to the large firms (and their often larger clients) and wins.
